Ashram has been remarkably dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating the deserted and the dying people from the streets and to serve the less fortunate brothers & sisters, hailing from different parts of the country suffering from various diseases. Most of the mentally ill/retarded people in the ashram are street patients, who don’t have anyone to look after them. They were wandering on the roads, sheltering in bus stands and railway stations, eating thrown out food from the garbage. Such destitute are brought to the Ashram, cleaned, provided food, and shelter, clothing and necessary medical treatment.
This Ashram has 200 bedded Psychiatric Hospital. Various types of Psychiatric and mentally challenged patients have been getting treated here. Most of them are picked up from the street. We have received the recognition for Psychiatric Clinical Nursing Training to Nursing Schools & Colleges registered at the Karnataka State Nursing Council (Consolidated under the Karnataka Nurses Midwives and Health Visitors Act, 1961). We also have got the permission for 100 a bedded general hospital. We have permission to provide psychiatric clinical experience for the GNM, B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, MSW, and M. Sc Clinical Psychology students.
