Volunteer Experience at SEON ASHRAM
My name is Rebecca Loelke, I am from Germany and I am working as a long term volunteer at Seon Ashram.
My sending organization FSL (Field Service and Intercultural Learning) India stays in contact with youth organizations all over the world and so gives young people the possibility of intercultural learning and helping in various social projects throughout Karnataka. When I was at home I hoped to get a chance of doing something good for society and maybe help some people. What I found was the incredible work of the Seon Ashram family.
To see what is really possible through the faith, ambition and the visions of only one man and his family had a quiet impressive impact on my point of view. Giving shelter, dignity, and education to so many people makes his work incredible exceptional and precious.
People, who would otherwise have no other chance than to live on the street, lost and expelled by society, find a loving and peaceful place to live at the Seon Ashram. I am so glad to have the chance to be for one year a small part of it. To work with the inmates and try to make their world a little bit better and happier gives me deep satisfaction. I really hope that the Seon Ashram can continue its great work and makes at this place the world a little bit better. I will do all one can to support the honest work of the Seon Ashram in future.
