ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR

2009 – 2010

Seon Ashram is a residential and rehabilitative centre for the mentally challenged, mentally ill, physically challenged, aged, destitute school going children and infants. A trust, which is having its concern for the sick and the suffering people. It was started by Mr. U.C Paulose in March 1999, and this financial year it has completed its 11th year of its existence of rendering its service to the destitute people of the above caliber.

When he was waiting to catch a train, he had seen a horrible vision happened near railway station. The horrible scene was that some mental patients that are wandering in the street rushed near the public dustbin and picked their food and started eating as if

they are not human beings. he was disappointed and thought immediately to safeguard this people. He thought in future if he takes any remedial measures to these people definitely it becomes real service of God and he was decided to start this Seon Ashram Trust. And also he shared this matter with my family members and

they were also supported to start this view challenged work of this charitable service. Hence they have looked after around 65 God’s children in our home”.

It all started with only a few mentally ill persons that were picked up from the street to be taken care of in his own house. This service attracted many kind and generous persons to help the centre in its selfless cause and also the number of patients have been increasing day by day. To this day the Ashram counts 288 inmates’ altogether. God’s hand has been working in this centre. As a result, many people stretched out their helping and encouraging hands, which made the existence of this Seon Ashram possible since 22nd of March 1999.

Location

The Ashram is situated in a remote place called Gandibagilu in Belthangady Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District in Karnataka State. It is around 90 Kms away from Mangalore the district headquarters to the east on Mangalore – Chikmagalore Road.
