12th Annual Day
“May the good God bless you – Happy Birthday to You!”
On March 22nd we celebrated the 12th birthday of our Ashram from the evening until the late evening with our residents. In the past 12 years many things have changed – have always been struggling, but we have been able to bring about many changes since 1999 as we started Seon Ashram in our home: Now we have an overcrowded but adequate building to accommodate our residents – but we kindly pray you for future support, especially because there are several income generating projects (Animal Husbandry and Biogas Plant) we would like to finalize until our 13th birthday. At the same time we have to cope with an increasing number of residents – in March allone we received 7 new inhabitants.
How we celebrated
Allthough a quite challenging future is ahead of us, we celebrated a bright and colorful birthday. Inmates, staff, nursing students and volunteers joined hands to make this a birthday to remember. We were honored to welcome Dr. Haaral;e as our guest. These were the highlights
- Our office staff’s traditional dance
- Dance performance of the nursing students
- The Macarena Dance of our residents and volunteers
- “The Angry Shark” – an English drama performed by our residents
- “Eena Ga Di” – Nursing Students and our residents sung a touching encouragement song together.
However, the most important event was the distribution of the gifts for the residents committed to different duties and responsibilities in our Ashram. Even if the financial condition are relatively gloomy right now, we hold it to be important that every effort for the better shall be rewarded.
